We breathe throughout our lives, yet rarely pause to notice the breath or listen to what it reveals.
This retreat is for those who wish to move beyond practicing breathing techniques mechanically and begin exploring the deeper relationship between breath and mind.
For those who have practised breathing exercises but still want to understand how pranayama works, why it matters, and how it prepares the mind for meditation.
For those experiencing stress, mental restlessness, low energy, emotional imbalance, or a feeling of disconnection from their natural rhythm.
For yoga students, teachers, therapists, healers, and practitioners who want to refine their understanding of prana and bring greater clarity, sensitivity, and steadiness into their practice.
The retreat unfolds gradually. It begins by preparing the body, observing the natural breath, and developing sensitivity to its rhythm. From this foundation, classical pranayama practices are introduced, refined, and integrated with meditation, philosophy, Yoga Nidra, mantra, sound, and personal guidance.
The purpose is not to force the breath, hold it for long periods, or pursue intense experiences. The emphasis is on safety, steadiness, awareness, and a direct understanding of how breath influences the body, nervous system, prana, emotions, and mind.

Gentle, alignment-aware postures prepare the spine, chest, diaphragm, shoulders, and respiratory system for comfortable seated pranayama practice.

Specific breathing techniques are introduced gradually to regulate prana, refine breath awareness, steady the mind, and support inner balance.

Selected yogic cleansing practices help prepare the respiratory system, reduce stagnation, and create a clearer foundation for pranayama and meditation. here.

Guided meditation develops awareness of the relationship between breath, thought, emotion, and inner experience without forcing or suppressing what arises.

Yoga Nidra supports deep rest and nervous-system recovery, allowing the body and mind to absorb and integrate the effects of daily practice.
Philosophy sessions explore prana, breath, nadis, mind, awareness, meditation, and the deeper purpose of pranayama through classical yogic teachings.

Mantra chanting and sound healing encourage subtle listening, energetic balance, relaxation, and an experience of stillness beyond ordinary thinking.
Each participant receives attentive support so the practices can be understood clearly and approached according to individual capacity.

Sunil Sharma is the founder of Yoganga Healing and the guiding teacher of the Pranayama Healing Retreat. His work brings together classical yoga, pranayama, meditation, yogic philosophy, and psychological understanding. He does not teach pranayama as a collection of techniques, but as a way of understanding how breath reflects the condition of the body, nervous system, emotions, energy, and mind.
His presence is calm, attentive, and deeply grounded. Rather than pushing students toward intense experiences, he guides each participant according to their capacity—preparing the body, refining the breath, balancing prana, and helping the mind settle naturally. Through his guidance, pranayama becomes a practice of listening, inner understanding, and return to stillness.
A Daily Rhythm of Breath, Practice, and Rest

Slower, more conscious breathing can support relaxation, reduce mental agitation, and help the body gradually move out of a constant state of stress.
You begin to recognise habitual breathing patterns and understand how the breath changes in response to thought, emotion, posture, and energy.
As the breath becomes more balanced, the mind may become quieter, supporting concentration, steadiness, and clearer inner observation.

Breath awareness creates more space between experience and reaction, allowing emotions to be observed with greater clarity and less urgency.
By the end of the retreat, you will receive guidance on how to continue pranayama, breath awareness, and meditation safely at home. The practices will be selected according to your understanding, experience, and capacity.
After the retreat, students are invited to join the Yoganga Healing Circle, a WhatsApp community offering free monthly sessions on yoga, healing, breath, meditation, and inner work. You can also stay connected with Sunil Sharma via email or WhatsApp for guidance as you continue your practice.
We look forward to welcoming you and your community to Soham.
