Guided by Experience, Rooted in Tradition.
Every drop-in class at Soham Retreat is led by teachers who have devoted years to the authentic study and practice of yoga in Rishikesh. Their guidance draws on the healing lineage that has made this region a gathering place for seekers from around the world.
Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening a long-standing practice, each session is thoughtfully held — pacing, breath cues, and alignment adapted to whoever walks through the door that morning or evening.
The same care that shapes our longer courses infuses every single class, so you can arrive as a stranger and leave feeling truly seen in your practice.

Soham Retreat Center, Jonk Village, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India.
From Ram Jhula, cross the suspension bridge and follow the riverside path northward through Jonk Village. Soham Retreat is set slightly back from the Ganga, surrounded by trees — look for our sign along the lane leading away from the main road. The walk takes approximately 10–15 minutes on foot.
From Laxman Jhula, head south along the east bank of the Ganga toward Jonk Village. The retreat is a pleasant riverside walk of roughly 20 minutes, passing local ashrams and gardens. Auto-rickshaws and shared taxis from the Laxman Jhula area also serve Jonk Village directly.
Questions Before You Arrive.
What should I bring to class?
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows free movement. Bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated. Yoga mats are provided at the retreat, so there is no need to carry your own.
What experience level do I need?
All levels are welcome, including complete beginners. Our teachers adapt their guidance to the composition of each group, so every student — whether brand new to yoga or an experienced practitioner — is met where they are.
What does the ₹500 fee include?
The ₹500 fee covers the full class session, including mat use and teacher-led instruction from start to finish. There are no hidden costs or additional charges on the day.
Why is Sunday a rest day?
Sunday is observed as a collective rest and integration day at Soham Retreat, in keeping with the yogic tradition of honouring stillness as an essential part of practice. It is a time for the community — teachers and students alike — to restore and reflect before the new week begins.
How do I find the centre for the first time?
Full directions from Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula are in the section above. We recommend arriving a few minutes before class begins — our staff are on hand to welcome walk-ins and help you settle in. If you have any difficulty finding us, feel free to call ahead.
