-When Practice Becomes Sadhana-
This retreat is for students who want more than a few strong morning classes. It is for those who wish to understand Ashtanga as a living method: breath, bandha, drishti, sequence, alignment, adjustment, philosophy, and steady self-practice.
01
Establish a stronger independent practice through Led and Mysore-style guidance, correction, and repetition.
02
Understand Tristhana, Primary Series structure, vinyasa count, breath mechanics, and the inner logic of Ashtanga.
03
Establish a stronger independent practice through Led and Mysore-style guidance, correction, and repetition.
Each module is taught through direct practice, demonstration, discussion, and hands-on observation. The content is deep, but the language remains practical and grounded. Students receive a 50-hour certificate on completion of the retreat.

A focused introduction to Ashtanga’s foundations — lineage, Ujjayi breath, bandhas, drishti, prana, and the opening mantra.

A practical session on Surya Namaskara, standing postures, and vinyasa technique — with focus on alignment, stability, flexibility, and the foundations of jumping through and back.

A practical anatomy session on protecting the knees, hips, shoulders, and spine while working safely with lotus, forward folds, twists, Chaturanga, and key Primary Series postures.

A teacher-focused session on safe, respectful adjustments — including consent, directional guidance, assists for key posture groups, drop-back support, and clear verbal cueing.

A closing session on inversions, restoration, the Eight Limbs, Mangala Mantra, Q&A, and integration of the Ashtanga practice into daily life.

A practical session on creating intelligent Vinyasa sequences by linking posture, breath, intention, and yogic integrity.
Kamal Singh, founder of Tattvaa Yogashala, is widely respected in the global Ashtanga community for precise, alignment-based teaching. His students span generations and continents, and his work is known for discipline, detail, and traditional practice.
In this retreat, students practise at their own rhythm while receiving individual attention, technical correction, posture guidance, and support in understanding the sequence from the inside.
“Through discipline, freedom is attained.”
Kamal Singh
